With Marist keen to get over their opening day defeat, as well as the prospect of re-claiming the Sarah Clearwater trophy for the first time since June 2015, they didn’t hold back, scoring six unanswered goals. David Lowe, Marists player of the day, and Tyler Foster got two each, with Scott Aynsley and Juan Lawrence scoring one each. Westport put up a good fight, which isn’t reflected in the final scoreline, and their player of the day was their goalkeeper Julian Sanit.
