Grey United made the trip north to Coronation Park, to face a Westport Cos side that hasn’t lost at that venue for nearly two years. The first half was even, though Westport certainly put the pressure on the Grey United defence. Both midfields passed the ball well, but no real chances fell to either side. With the last kick of the first half, Adam Kemsley controlled the ball at the edge of the box then a well-placed cross-goal shot found the side netting to put Grey United 1-0 ahead. The second half continued with both teams getting the ball on the ground and passing. However, it was the Grey United midfield, especially Anton Merkushev in the middle, that started finding the right passes in attack and before long they had their second goal. After a cross to the back-post, Scott Honey beat the Westport keeper to the ball to leave Caleb Anderson to head into the net. Grey United continued to create chances, but nothing clear cut fell their way, mainly due to the immense performance of Grant Smith in the Westport defence. At the other end, Josh Roche on the right wing put the pressure on for Westport but met his match with Andrew Kahl and Carl Schroeder holding firm.
