Marist made their second trip of the season south to face Westland United. The strong north westerly wind played havoc at times, challenging both teams’ ball control. Marist’s Ethan Kelleher made several brilliant saves in the first have to keep Westland out and the score remained 0-0 at half time. This game appeared to be going the way of their first encounter, which ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with the score line also goalless with five minutes left. That was until Richard Bungeroth got his head to the ball in the penalty box to give Westland United the 1-0 win. An unlucky defeat for Marist, but credit to Westland United who have now got their second win in a row.
